TRUNCATED ICOSAHEDRON

To truncate an icosahedron, each of the 30 edges is divided into three line segments by two points. These points become the 60 vertices of the truncation. Or we can say that each of the 12 vertices become 5 on the truncation.

When projected from the centre onto the cicumsphere this solid gives the shape of the soccer football.
